  "message": "DiffToolTest: don\u0027t assume temp files use java.io.tmpdir\n\ntestToolCached compared the temp file path that \"git difftool --staged\"\ncreates against System.getProperty(\"java.io.tmpdir\"). Inside the\nSurefire fork those two name different directories. In order:\n\n- the fork starts with -Djava.io.tmpdir\u003d${project.build.directory}\n  from the pgm.test pom, so java.io.tmpdir is \u003cmodule\u003e/target at startup\n- File.createTempFile captures that startup value and writes under\n  \u003cmodule\u003e/target\n- Maven is run with -Djava.io.tmpdir\u003d\u003cdir\u003e (as CI does), and Surefire\n  applies it with System.setProperty after the fork has started\n- System.getProperty therefore now returns \u003cdir\u003e, not \u003cmodule\u003e/target\n- the test expects \u003cdir\u003e/\u003cname\u003e_REMOTE_* but the file is under\n  \u003cmodule\u003e/target, so the match fails\n\nThis surfaced with the Java 17 -\u003e 25 bump: on Java 17\nFile.createTempFile read java.io.tmpdir live and so agreed with\nSystem.getProperty; since Java 21 it uses the value captured at JVM\nstartup, so the two diverge once Surefire changes the property after\nthe fork has started.\n\nNeutralize this JDK behavioral change by making no assumption about\nwhere the temporary directory comes from: match only the file name\npattern, not its directory, so the test harness is JDK-agnostic.\n\nChange-Id: I9c48f8c449301230f5a3a71b4ca98c1be911c8d6\n",
